I’m the first and only employee in the US branch of our company who was pregnant, took maternity leave and came back to work. And I did that twice. I asked for what’s necessary at work as a mother and received them. From breast pumping space to feasible working schedule to make my life sustainable as a happy human being.
During the coaching session with Corrie last year, this phrase came up: Wow, this made me think a lot. We women are flexible and tend to accept others needs, but at the same time we need to make sure that our needs are met too. But how? First by understanding your ideal situation. Then by speaking up, sharing the thoughts and feelings. And the last but not least, just doing and acting as you want it to be.
I thank for having kids because I am stronger because of them, use my brain more because of them, and find better life because of them.
I wouldn’t post this type of thoughts in the past because I was afraid of conflicts of interests. I still am. But my role now is to inspire and encourage someone who are in the similar situation.
